Have u ever wonder What is this R-rated or PG-rated movie?

Yeah many of us know this system but many don't know it so here is the blog about the Rating system. This Rating is set by The Motion Picture Association of America(MPAA) film rating system is used in the United States and its territories to rate a film's suitability for certain audiences based on its content.

The MPAA rating system is a voluntary scheme that is not enforced by law films can be exhibited without a rating, although certain theatres refuse to exhibit non-rated or NC-17 rated films.

This rating system was first introduced 51 years ago in 1968, this MPAA rating system helps Parent to guide their children whether it is suitable or not

G – General audiences ages admitted. Nothing that would offend parents for viewing by children.

PG – Parental Guidance suggested some material may not be suitable for children. Parents urged to give "parental guidance". May contain some material parents might not like for their young children.

PG-13 – Parents Strongly CautionedSome material may be inappropriate for children under 13. Parents are urged to be cautious. Some material may be inappropriate for pre-teenagers.

R – restricted under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian. Contains some adult material. Parents are urged to learn more about the film before taking their young children with them.

NC-17 – Adults OnlyNo One 17 and Under Admitted. Clearly adult. Children are not admitted.
ViolenceEdit

Depictions of violence are permitted under all ratings but must be moderated for the lower ones. Violence must be kept to a minimum in G rated films and must not be intense in PG-rated films. Depictions of intense violence are permitted under the PG-13 rating, but the violence that is both realistic and extreme or persistent will generally require at least an R rating.

LanguageEdit

Snippets of language that go "beyond polite conversation" are permitted in G rated films, but no stronger words are present. Profanity may be present in PG-rated films, and use of one of the harsher "sexually-derived words" as an expletive will initially incur at least a PG-13 rating. Multiple occurrences will usually incur an R rating as will the usage of such an expletive in a sexual context. Nevertheless, the rating board may still award a PG-13 rating passed by a two-thirds majority if they believe the language is justified by the context or by the manner in which the words are used.

NudityEdit

Nudity is restricted to PG and above, and anything that constitutes more than brief nudity will require at least a PG-13 rating. Nudity that is sexually oriented will generally require an R rating. As of 2010, the MPAA has added a descriptor of "male nudity" to films featuring said content.

Sexual contentment

The MPAA does not have any explicit criteria for sexual content other than excluding sex scenes from G rated films.

A B movie or B film is a low-budget commercial motion picture that is not an arthouse film. In its original usage, during the Golden Age of Hollywood, the term more precisely identified films intended for distribution as the less-publicized bottom half of a double feature (akin to-sides for recorded music). A B rating reflects an opinion that the issuer has the current capacity to meet its debt obligations but faces more solvency risk than a BB-rated issue and less than a B-rated issue if a business, financial, or economic conditions change measurably.
