Revolt India’s First Electric Motorcycle

Revolt Intellicorp has finally unveiled India’s first fully electric motorcycle, the RV 400. The company has announced that the bike will be launched next month and that deliveries will commence soon after. One can pre-book the motorcycle through the company's website for a token amount of Rs 1,000 starting June 25. The RV 400 electric motorcycle will be manufactured at Revolt’s production facility in Manesar, Haryana. Spread across 1 lakh sq.ft, the manufacturing plant has an annual production capacity of 1.2 lakh units.

  • The company claims that the motorcycle has a range of 150km.
  • Its top speed is restricted to 85kmph.
  • The electric motorcycle will get 4G connectivity for OTA updates
  • It will feature swappable lithium-ion batteries
  • It’s India’s first AI-enabled electric motorcycle.

In terms of features, the Revolt RV 400 is ahead of its rivals by a considerable margin. Along with LED headlamps and a fully digital instrument cluster, it features AI-based technology which improves the battery performance as per the riding style. It gets Bluetooth connectivity and buyers can remotely start their motorcycles via their smartphone! The bike will also support voice commands to start the motor. Also, to make sure the RV 400 pleases die-hard fans of petrol-powered motorcycles, Revolt has equipped it with an option of four artificial exhaust notes. Whether the electric motorcycle will get additional exhaust notes in the future via OTA updates remains to be seen.

Have seen Revolt teaser.

In the teaser, we can see that a rider select an exhaust which he preferred via a mobile app and this is really amazing. The electric motorcycle is set to be a feature-rich product capable of going 156km on a full charge.

It is all set to be India’s first all-electric motorcycle.

Rs. 1.20 lakh Onwards

Apart from electric two-wheelers, the company is also planning to enter personal, institutional and commercial markets. Initially, Revolt is looking at 75 per cent localisation but is aiming to increase that to 100 per cent by the end of 2020. The upcoming electric bike will get the benefits of the FAME II scheme, and thus, is expected to be priced under Rs 1 lakh (on-road).
